The historic village of Kayakoy located in Fethiye, Mugla, Turkey, has transitioned from a deserted ghost town into a significant tourist destination. Now a protected area, it attracted over 100,000 visitors last year, becoming the second most visited archaeological site in Mugla. The village offers a step back in time with roughly 400 houses, two churches, and multiple chapels. Entry into Kayakoy is ticketed, and under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Furthermore, the Fethiye Museum Directorate states the village had accommodated 4,000 visitors in just nine days during the Eid festival.
