Workers who moved during the pandemic are travelling back into the cities during the week, turning to recurring hotel reservations. Now, hotels are offering specialized deals for mid-week guests, offering promotions for commuters who find themselves answering the call to return to office.
Supercommuters—a term coined by the New York Times—are paying for accommodation
deals to keep their lengthy commutes comfortable but affordable. Multiple hotels in Britain, including The Savoy and the Pullman London St. Pancras, developed a Commute and Stay promotion under The Accor Group with two discounted midweek nights, a flexible cancellation policy and scheduling assistance for work and client gatherings. Mama Shelter, another hotel in the group, promotes its own homey accommodations, gym and karaoke bar alongside its Altelier co-working spaces, equipped with multiple rooms, private meeting spaces, adaptable table set-ups, smart walls and staff services.
