Sophomore air carrier Avelo announced Thursday that it will begin offering three new routes at Wilmington International Airport (ILM), starting June 30.
The announcement means the airport has finally nabbed its first low-cost carrier and brings two new destinations to ILM that arenāt already serviced. āLow fares have arrived,ā said ILM director Jeff Bourk.
At a press conference Thursday morning at ILM, officials were jubilant while announcing the news.
Between fist pumps, officials shared that Avelo was launching two nonstop routes out of ILM to Orlando International Airport and Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut ā both locations previously lacking direct connections to ILM ā and a seasonal route to Baltimore/Washington International Airport.Ā
