World Animal Protection, a global animal protection organisation with offices in NSW, is asking Aussies to boycott GetYourGuide, alleging the popular travel company benefits from animal cruelty.
Its latest report “Making Memories Misery: How GetYourGuide Profits from Animal Cruelty” shows that many of the animal tourism venues which GetYourGuide partners with abuse animals.
There were instances where animals endure cruel training, are forced into frightening interactions with people, and have suffered shocking injuries.
Some of the worst offenders in the report include Dolphin Discovery (Mexico, Caribbean, the US), Miami Seaquarium (US), Amer Fort (India) and Bali Safari Marine Park (Indonesia).
GetYourGuide also sells tickets to close encounters with wild animals at several Australian venues, including Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, and Dreamworld.
