UK’s largest bus operator, Stagecoach East, is calling for improved communication among local stakeholders to address serious traffic congestion issues, highlighting the vital role buses play in reducing congestion, pollution, and helping fight climate change. Buses also contribute significantly to public health and the local economy, with bus commuters adding £64 billion annually to the economy. A double-decker bus also has the potential to remove up to 75 cars from the road, which underscores buses’ importance in local communities by connecting people, combating loneliness, reducing traffic and pollution.
