Majorca’s director of tourism has issued a ‘clear’ message on the island’s dependence on the industry following a summer of anti-tourism protests. Susanna Sciacovelli, warned the island “lives off tourism” after many residents demonstrated against huge numbers of holidaymakers arriving in recent months.
But Ms Sciacovelli, the Director of Tourism Demand and Hospitality for the council of Majorca, warned that the system does need to change due to “limited resources”.
