The fourth edition of Booking.com’s annual global LGBTQ+ travel research reveals important trends and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ travellers, with a particular focus on individuals from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This year’s study highlights a shift towards self-empowerment among these travellers, as they strive to find more satisfaction during their trips. Key findings from the research show that 66% of LGBTQ+ travellers from APAC believe it is essential to be their authentic selves during their journeys. Furthermore, 48% have created an alter-ego to safely navigate diverse environments while travelling, and 70% of LGBTQ+ travellers source travel inspiration from LGBTQ+ pop culture.
