Poland is open and safe for visitors, its tourism chief has stressed, despite Russia’s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine, which has caused the biggest European refugee crisis in recent memory.
Dorota Wojciechowska, director of the Polish Tourism Organisation, has urged travellers to keep visiting to support the country’s tourism industry and the wider Polish economy.
Wojciechowska said it was all the more important for visitation to continue to maintain confidence in the sector and allow tourism revenue to contribute to a £1.34 billion Polish government fund due to be set aside to help those affected by Russia’s invasion.
