Thousands of “freedom rally” protesters in Melbourne and Sydney are demonstrating against vaccine mandates, passports and previous lockdown restrictions set out by the government.
At least 20,000 demonstrators have arrived outside Melbourne’s state parliament to protest against mandatory vaccinations and the vaccine passport.
As previously seen in rallies across in the past couple of months, members of the substantially large group are holding a variety of flags, including the Australia and Aboriginal flag, the Eureka and the Red Ensign.
Other national flags such as Portugal, Japan, Croatia, Greece, Germany and Cambodia were among the mix.
Thousands of workers across two dozen sectors were required to show their proof of double dose vaccination on Friday in order to continue working outside their home.
Teachers in schools, childcare, early education services and other workers in education facilities will need to show evidence of their full vaccination on Monday November 29.
