The Yorke and Northern Local Health Network Aboriginal Health Team celebrated Close the Gap Day on Thursday, March 17 by holding their first ever mini mental health exposition in Port Pirie.
A YNLHN Aboriginal Health Team spokesperson said the intention of the day was to bring the community together and connect them with the many local resources available.
The number of people seeking mental health assistance increased due to the COVD-19 pandemic, with Lifeline receiving historical record daily call volumes.
Counsellor, Lorna Woodward works for Lifeline Connect in Clare and helps connect people with suitable services to improve social and emotional well-being.
