A minor was arrested by the IGI police for sending a fake bomb threat email regarding an Air Canada flight to Toronto. The minor, whose identity remains confidential, admitted to sending the email on June 4 to test whether the police could trace him.
Usha Rangrani, Deputy Commissioner of Police for IGI District, stated that upon receiving the threat on June 4, the airport was immediately placed on high alert. The plane with 301 passengers and 16 crew members onboard was evacuated and searched as per protocol.
