Air Canada pilots are staging an “informational picket” at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) this Friday (Dec. 8), according to the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), the group’s union.
Hundreds of Air Canada pilots, alongside peers from other airlines, will participate in the picket, which the union says will “demonstrate their resolve and solidarity in achieving a world-class contract.”
“If the last year and a half has taught us anything, it’s that busy travel seasons while traveling with Air Canada sometimes come with disruptions and cancellations—and no one knows that better than our passengers. As we near the holiday season, we want travellers to know that the Air Canada pilots are working hard to get them where they need to go, to connect you with your loved ones. We hope that Air Canada is ready to do the same,” said F/O Charlene Hudy, chair of the Air Canada Master Executive Council, in a statement.
