ata group-owned Air India Express is battling a cabin crew shortage after hundreds of its staff members called in sick and failed to report for duty. Due to this, several Air India Express flights have been cancelled.
As per reports, the airline has also terminated 25 of its cabin crew members and issued an ultimatum to others asking them to return to work by 4 pm.

Today, Air India Express said that it is making “every possible effort” to minimise the inconvenience its guests are witnessing due to this situation.
A spokesperson for the airline said that they will be operating 283 flights today. We have mobilised all resources and Air India will support us by operating on 20 of our routes,” the spokesperson said. The airline added that 85 of its flights stand cancelled today, urging its passengers to check if their flight is affected by the disruption. “If their flight is cancelled, or delayed beyond 3 hours, they may opt for a full refund or reschedule to a later date without any fees on Tia on WhatsApp
Addressing situation
Air India Express has said that it will be engaging with its staff to resolve the issue. “While we will continue to engage with our cabin crew colleagues with a commitment to address any concern, we are taking appropriate steps against certain individuals as their actions have caused grave inconvenience to thousands of our guests,” the spokesperson said.
