Prayagraj: Air passengers of Prayagraj, wishing to travel to Pune, will either have to travel by train or book a flight from another city as the direct flight from Sangam city to Pune has been discontinued.Interestingly, on the last day of Prayagraj-Pune flight on Thursday, 88% seats were filled with 318 passengers , 161 passengers arrived and 157 flew to Pune.The Prayagraj-Pune flight was introduced in March 2020. Earlier it operated six days a week and was later reduced to three days a week. Since then there have been talks of closing it. The load factor of Pune flight is more than 80% and still its operation has been stopped, causing dissatisfaction among the users.Meanwhile, flights from Prayagraj to Delhi and Bilaspur will now operate till April 15. The Prayagraj-Bilaspur flight will now come from Bilaspur to Prayagraj on Tuesday and Thursday. Whereas, the flight will go to Bilaspur on Thursday and Saturday.The airport administration maintains that the local administration of Alliance Air has claimed that a new schedule will be released soon. Both flights were not included in the summer schedule that came into effect from March 31. Alliance Air aircraft used to operate from Prayagraj to Delhi and Bilaspur every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.Airport Advisory Committee chairperson and MP Keshari Devi Patel and members have expressed their displeasure over discontinuation of the flight for Pune. The MP has taken up the issue with the aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
