Jaipur: Airlines have proposed starting flight services to five new domestic destinations and three international destinations from Jaipur International Airport (JIA) in the summer schedule to be effective from March 31, said officials on Monday.Indigo Airlines has proposed new routes connecting Jaipur to Amritsar, Ayodhya and Vadodara while Air India Express and Alliance Air have proposed to operate on Guwahati and Chandigarh routes respectively, said officials. Air Asia Berhad, Air India Express and Etihad Airways have also proposed to offer direct connectivity to Kuala Lumpur, Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok and Abu-Dhabi respectively, they said.“Airlines have expressed interest in operating flights on new domestic and international routes. Passenger traffic is constantly rising at JIA, and now we are marching ahead with an expected summer travel boom. With the proposed summer schedule, average air traffic of Jaipur airport is likely to increase to 70 departures per day,” said a JIA official.Indigo Airlines has also proposed to increase flight frequency to destinations like Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Chandigarh and Lucknow, said officials. “For Lucknow, the company proposed to run additional seven flights in a week. Alliance Air has announced five additional departures to New Delhi, while Air Asia proposed three additional departures to Mumbai,” said an official.Air India Express has proposed seven additional departures to Bengaluru and 12 to Kolkata, while Spice Jet has decided to increase new departure to Ahmedabad, Ayodhya and Delhi.
