TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesian airline AirAsia is preparing 350,000 seats during the Eid al-Fitr period this year from April 3 to 18, 2024. This number is up 27 percent compared to the same period last year.
CEO of Indonesia AirAsia Veranita Yosephine Sinaga said that Indonesia AirAsia has prepared various strategic steps in anticipating the surge in travelers, one of which is by providing at least 160 to 250 additional flights.
“To accommodate the high demand for airplane tickets during the Eid al-Fitr period,” Veranita said in a written statement on Tuesday.
According to Veranita, steps are taken to ensure availability and provide more flight options for passengers who plan to participate in Eid homecoming.
Veranita also said that Indonesia AirAsia provides more capacity to keep up with the high interest in the Eid homecoming.
“[The measure] is expected to help stabilize airplane ticket prices on the market and remain affordable for travelers,” Veranita said.
