AirAsia has celebrated the upcoming Hari Raya with a special event and send off for guests flying on extra flights at fixed low fares departing from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau and Miri. The flights achieved 100% capacity, and guests were sent off with grandeur at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The special extra flights at fixed low fares for Hari Raya initiative, launched on 7 March, already offered over 20,000 Malaysians access to RM199 and RM249 flights to Sarawak and Sabah, respectively. Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke, acknowledged the efforts of the airline and other major carriers in maximizing capacity and accommodating balik kampung travelers. AirAsia Malaysia CEO, Riad Asmat, noted that the initiative required dedication and hard work from the ground to the air to ensure that the extra fixed fare flights were in operation for festive season travelers. Guests are encouraged to self check-in using the airasia Superapp, available as early as 14 days prior to scheduled departure time, and arrive at the airport at least two hours before their domestic scheduled departure time to avoid expected congestion.
