The Malaysian government has announced a 30-day visa-free stay for Indian nationals. Keeping with this, AirAsia has decided to increase connectivity between India and Malaysia in 2024. With up to 1.5 million seats annually, AirAsia announced a major expansion of its service between Malaysia and India, adding an astounding 69 weekly flights beginning in the first quarter of 2024.

The substantial capacity expansion is a reaction to the expected spike in demand for travel following the declaration by the Malaysian government that visitors from India will be able to enter the country for free for 30 days beginning on December 1, 2023.
