AirAsia Philippines is enhancing its global presence by resuming flights between Manila and Shanghai and opening new routes from Cebu to Shenzhen and Narita. These new routes will begin in June and July 2023, and the low-cost carrier aims to provide the best value for money by catering to Filipinos’ growing appetite for travel. The Cebu-Shenzhen direct flight is set to launch in June 2023, while the Cebu-Narita route will begin in July 2023. Meanwhile, the Manila-Shanghai flight, the last piece in AirAsia Philippines’ China network, is set to reopen on 1 July, as a part of the carrier’s recovery plan. By resuming more international direct flights, AirAsia Philippines aims to improve the travel experience for Cebuanos and other travelers from Central Visayas, as they will no longer have to transit in Manila to reach these exciting destinations. To entice more passengers, AirAsia Philippines is offering PHP 1 one-way base fares to select international destinations for bookings until 30 April 2023 for flights scheduled from 3 April to 31 October 2023. Passengers are reminded to check in four hours before an international flight to facilitate necessary procedures, while those carrying hand-carry luggage are advised to utilise the carrier’s App or self-check-in kiosks. Passengers are encouraged to accomplish the eTRAVEL form 72 hours before departure and arrival and pay their travel tax online via tieza.gov.ph.
