COLUMBIA REGIONAL AIRPORT —
Columbia Regional Airport passengers found out Monday they had more options. American Airlines officials planned to offer additional flights to Dallas and Chicago. American Airlines will offer an additional flight to Chicago O’Hare International Airport beginning April 4, and an additional flight to Dallas/Fort Worth beginning June 5. Travelers will then have the option of four flights to Dallas and three flights to Chicago each day.
Airport Manager Michael Parks said the additional flights offered a new opportunity and more convenience for travelers. Parks said the additional flights would get passengers to their destinations faster and get them home sooner.
Airline officials added a temporary flight to Chicago that lasted a few weeks in October as a test to see if they should add a new permanent flight. Airport officials said there could be more additional permanent flights soon.
Parks said, “We continue to have conversations with American Airlines, of course, about additional flights out of here both to Chicago and Dallas, and other locations such as Charlotte. We are also having conversations with additional airlines about potential new service out of Columbia.”
Exact times for the new additional flights have yet to be determined. You can find the Columbia Regional Airport’s airline information and flight schedules by visiting flycou.com.
