An American Airlines flight originating from Charlotte and headed to Chattanooga was forced to return to Charlotte Monday after smoke was reported in the cabin.
American Eagle Flight 5304 left Charlotte Douglas International Airport Monday at about 9:06am bound for Chattanooga. American Eagle is a subsidiary of American Airlines.
NBC affiliate WCNC said that the Bombardier CRJ-900 returned and landed safely in Charlotte.
Passengers were taken by bus back to the terminal. They were booked on a later flight using a different jet.
No injuries were reported.
