American Airlines will suspend its Philadelphia-Madrid route due to delays in the delivery of new Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The airline remains committed to its customers and will try to mitigate the impact of the 787 delivery delays while still offering a robust international network. Boeing is continuing to work with its suppliers and customers, including American Airlines. Several airlines have already gone public addressing the issues that these delays have caused to their schedules, and plane makers are struggling to get new planes quickly enough to keep up with increased global demand. American Airlines has an unfilled order for 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliner 9s and plans to take delivery of three more planes this year. Delays last year also led the airline to suspend several international routes.
