One of the three largest airlines in the US, American Airlines operates domestic and international flights from multiple major hubs in the country. One such hub is Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The airline not only connects domestic passengers to and from DFW but also operates many scheduled international services from the airport.

This article compiles a list of American Airlines’ most frequently served international routes from DFW this month. The information is based on data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company.

5 Dallas (DFW) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR)

At the bottom of our list is the 853-nautical mile (981-mile) route between DFW and Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) in Mexico. The airline offers three daily flights between the two cities, primarily using its Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Two morning flights take off each day, whereas the third daily flight is operated in the early afternoon Dallas time.

With an average of 173 seats per departure, the airline offers 16,050 seats on the route, giving it almost 16 million available seat miles (ASMs). While the airline does not have any competition on the route, its codeshare partners sell tickets for the service, including British Airways, Japan Airlines, and Qatar Airways.

Number four on our list is the 813-nautical mile (935-mile) route between DFW and Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) in Mexico City. The airline offers four daily flights between the two cities using its Boeing 737-800 aircraft. There are two morning flights, one afternoon flight, and an evening flight from Dallas to Mexico City.

The southbound flight takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes whereas the northbound flight to DFW concludes in just under three hours. With an average of 172 seats per departure, the airline offers 20,640 seats on the route, accumulating to over 19 million ASMs. Besides American Airlines, AeroMexico operates once daily flights between the two cities through its subsidiary AeroMexico Connect.

Number three on our list is one of the longest American Airline routes across the Atlantic. It is the 4,132-nautical mile (4,751-mile) route between DFW and London Heathrow Airport (LHR). The airline offers four daily flights between the two cities, using its largest aircraft, including the Boeing 777-200s and the 777-300ERs.

With an average of 296 seats per departure, the airline offers 36,735 seats on the route, accumulating a whopping 175 million ASMs. American Airlines’ codeshare partner, British Airways, also operates a daily service between the two cities using its Airbus A380 aircraft. The 9-hour, 15-minute hop across the pond sees some of the most iconic widebody jets.

The airline offers five daily flights between the two cities, using a mix of Airbus A321 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft. There are three flights in the morning and two in the afternoon from Dallas.

With an average of 186 seats per departure, the airline offers 28,708 seats on the route, accumulating to over 29 million ASMs. There is no other competition on the route; however, American’s codeshare partners, British Airways and Qatar Airways, advertise and sell tickets on this route.

Seven daily American Airlines flights from DFW serve the popular Mexican destination, using a mix of Airbus A321 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

With an average of 185 seats per departure, the airline offers 45,612 seats on the route, accumulating nearly 47 million ASMs. In addition to American Airlines, US-based low-cost carriers Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines also serve the route with once-daily flights. Both airlines use their A321 aircraft on the route.
