Medallion Qualification Dollar Waiver
To earn frequent flyer status with Delta Air Lines, you must meet a Medallion® Qualifying Dollar (MQD) requirement, which means you must spend a certain amount on Delta flights, from $3,000 for Silver status, up to $15,000 for Diamond status.
If you are one of the many people who flies frequently on Delta but does not meet the MQD requirements to earn status, you are in luck. All Delta Airlines co-branded credit cards allow you to waive the Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQD) requirements for earning status by meeting spending thresholds on the card. If you spend $25,000 in eligible purchases on your Delta Reserve card, Delta will waive the MQD requirement for Silver, Gold and Platinum status. If it’s Diamond status you are after, Delta will waive the MQD requirement after $250,000 in spending.
Medallion Status Boosts
If you are chasing Delta frequent flyer status, the Delta Reserve card can be a useful tool to help you accelerate your path toward status. By charging purchases to your Delta Reserve card, you can earn 15,000 Medallion Qualification Miles after you spend $30,000 in purchases on your card in a calendar year. You can use this benefit up to four times, which means that you can earn up to 60,000 Medallion Qualification Miles every year, which will put you at Gold Medallion status, without getting on a plane once.
