Head Chef Manish Khot, an Indian national, has 21 years of culinary experience, 18 of which are in the UAE.
Can you give us a glimpse of your career journey so far?
I started my journey in Taj Mumbai in 1999 and came to Dubai in 2003 where I worked in 7-star Luxurious Hotel Burj Al Arab. Since then, I have grown into my culinary journey made up to this position working with noted establishments like Emirates Airlines Hotels, Marriot Hotels, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Meraas F&B concepts, and now working in Kitopi, world’s leading managed cloud kitchen platform as Head Chef
What’s your favorite dish to eat and why?
Thai Green Curry (Spicy) on any given day, it has so many flavors with fresh vegetables and Thai herbs, The flavor, the aroma…. Served with hot jasmine rice……yum I am hungry already!!
What are you cooking up today? Tell us more about the dish.
Today I will be cooking a simple dish which is my signature dish- Beef Tenderloin with Sweet potatoes and green peas. This dish is an easy dish to prepare and is very vibrant looking with a lot of textures and colors from different ingredients like, green peas, sweet potatoes, red peppers, and beef. I will be using Nestle Demi glaze in my cooking.
As a chef, what are the top ingredients and products you’re using these days?
Local produces are great which are freshly grown in UAE there are lot of fruits and vegetable which are grown in UAE and as a Chef any chef would like to use fresh products as much as they can in their cooking, it not only enhances their food but also give the locals to be proud about their produce which is home grown.
