AN AIR traffic controller at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport contributed to wrong landing of an Ethiopian Airlines plane at an airport
under construction by clearing it to touch down despite not seeing the aircraft.According to preliminary investigations by the Civil A viation
Authority (CAA),the pilot of the Boeing 737 aircraft got disoriented when he broke the clouds as he was descending and ended up landing at
the uncompleted Copperbelt International Airport.CAA director general Gabriel Lesa said in an interview that investigations further indicate that the air traffic controller
cleared the plane to land when it was not in sight. Mr Lesa said the pilot had earlier reported that he was landing, when in fact not, with investigations further suggesting
