Nairobi — Ethiopia’s largest airline Ethiopian Airlines plans to resume scheduled flights to the war-torn Tigray region from Wednesday after a peace deal was struck in November.
“We hope that these flights will ensure that the people in Tigray can get back in touch with their relatives,” the airline’s managing director, Mesfin Tasew, told dpa.
The connection is also intended to improve the economic situation in Tigray, he said.
