Emirates and flydubai have announced a collaboration to support Dubai’s initiative towards becoming a cashless city. This joint effort aims to advance Dubai’s cashless future by enhancing payment options available to customers across both airline groups.
The cornerstone of this collaboration is the implementation of a new payment solution called eWallet. This eWallet is designed to provide customers with a more secure, convenient, and expedited method for making transactions. It is linked to the Dubai Smart Government Payment Gateway (DGPGS), a system facilitated by the Dubai Department of Finance (DOF) and Smart Dubai Government (SDG).
Through the eWallet, customers will have the flexibility to make payments for services using a variety of options, including their bank accounts, credit cards, or cash. The rollout of this eWallet system will commence across the Emirates Group initially, with subsequent implementation within the flydubai Group. This initiative reflects a commitment to contributing to Dubai’s vision of becoming a smart, digital city by offering an improved and diversified payment ecosystem.
