Jassim Al Gergawi, Senior Vice President, Head of Africa at flydubai, stated that the new route underscores flydubai’s commitment to expanding its network across Africa. He emphasized that the service will provide an affordable and reliable travel solution, connecting Dubai and Nairobi and fostering tourism and trade. With the addition of Nairobi, flydubai’s current network now includes 12 destinations across Africa. Mohammed Bahattab, Country Manager for Kenya at flydubai, reiterated the airline’s dedication to serving the Kenyan market and strengthening cultural and economic ties through direct air links.
The launch event at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport was attended by various guests and representatives, including officials from the Kenya Airports Authority, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, and both the Kenyan Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Tourism. Their presence highlighted the significance of flydubai’s entry into the Kenyan market for regional connectivity and economic development, with the airline aiming to facilitate easier travel for passengers and contribute to the growth of both tourism and trade sectors.
