South African airline FlySafair recently celebrated its ninth year of operation with a sale offering 50,000 flight tickets for only R9. More than 1.4 million people logged onto FlySafair’s website to take part in the sale, with the airline randomly selecting participants from a waiting room. Kirby Gordon, the chief marketing officer of FlySafair, said it was a privilege to offer cheap tickets to those who may not have been able to fly before. Lucky flyers took to Twitter to express their excitement and gratitude for the once-in-a-lifetime deal.
