Cruz appears opposite Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri in the teen comedy, directed by Emma Seligman, which hit theaters in the U.S. via MGM in August following a buzzy debut at the SXSW Film Festival. Co-written by Seligman and Sennott, the film watches as two unpopular queer high school students start a fight club in order to get laid before graduation.
Cruz played Hazel Callahan, a shy outsider who is friends with Edebiri’s Josie and Sennott’s Pj.
On the television side, Cruz was most recently seen starring in the Disney+ series Willow, produced by Imagine Entertainment and Lucas Television, which served as a sequel to the same-name 1988 fantasy adventure flick starring Warwick Davis.
