Several flights bound for Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport were diverted late on Sunday night. The diversions occurred due to strong easterly winds impacting landing operations at the airport. Air Traffic Control (ATC) issued instructions for pilots to abort landings or divert their flights as a direct consequence of these adverse wind conditions.
The primary destination for these diverted flights was Jaipur. Airport authorities clarified that the disruptions experienced were exclusively due to the strong easterly winds and were not caused by fog or any issues related to poor visibility.
