Airlines are opposing proposed rules on pilot work and rest, saying that they cannot fully implement them at least before 2026 as it would require an increase in their crew strength.

IndiGo and Air India have opposed a key amendment in the law which rewrites the definition of night period, extending it by an hour from 12 AM-5 AM to 12 AM-6AM, besides limiting the duty period to 10 hours.
