IndiGo Orders 30 Airbus A350-900 for International Expansion

IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share, has announced a significant expansion of its international capabilities with the board’s approval to acquire 30 Airbus A350-900 wide-body aircraft. This strategic move includes both firm orders and purchase rights for the long-range jets, with deliveries expected to commence from 2027. The acquisition marks a pivotal step in IndiGo’s ambition to serve new medium to long-haul international destinations, thereby expanding its global network.

The airline’s current fleet primarily consists of narrow-body Airbus A320 and A321 Neo aircraft, alongside ATR planes.
