Two intoxicated passengers onboard an IndiGo flight from Dubai to Mumbai were arrested on Wednesday after allegedly causing a commotion and insulting the crew and other passengers. The passengers, John G. Dsouza and Dattatray Bapardekar, confessed to purchasing alcohol duty-free and consuming half a bottle of each mid-flight to celebrate their return to India after a year of working in Dubai. They have been booked under IPC Section 336 for endangering the life and safety of others, and under relevant Aircraft Rules for dangerous flying, assault, and drinking. This is the seventh instance of disorderly flyers that Mumbai has reported this year. The most recent case was on March 11, when a US resident was arrested for smoking onboard and allegedly trying to open the emergency exit on a London-Mumbai Air India flight.
