Japan Airlines (JAL) launched a new flight search and reservation system on its official website, accessible via both PC and smartphone, on October 17, 2024. This updated system specifically targets international route reservations, aiming to provide a more flexible and user-friendly experience for customers.
The new platform integrates a flight calendar that displays fares for specific dates, allowing users to view various fare types and their associated conditions. Enhancements include flexible date search options, such as the ability to search within a range of plus or minus three days from a selected date, and the option to search for flights within a specified price range.
Customers can now also search for complex itineraries that combine international routes with connecting domestic flights. The “Manage Booking” section has been improved to facilitate easier seat assignments and reservation modifications. The system allows for changes to flights, dates, and fare types, under conditions such as maintaining the same fare type or upgrading to a higher fare type.
This new system was developed through a partnership with Amadeus, utilizing its Altéa PSS (Passenger Service System) and Digital Experience Suite. JAL’s objective is to offer a “flexible and stress-free” experience for passengers booking international travel.
