After taking off from the UK at around 5.20am, the Jet2 flight was “diverted” before landing in Kalamata, Greece at 11.55am local time. Tracking app Flight Radar showed that flight LS1765 turned around over northern France and headed back to Manchester at 6.10am.
A Jet2 spokesperson said there was “no cause for alarm”.
A spokesman later told MailOnline: “Flight LS1765 from Manchester to Kalamata followed standard procedure and returned to Manchester Airport after the pilot reported a minor fault indication.
“The aircraft landed safely and customers were transferred onto an alternative aircraft.”

It comes after Jet2 resumed flights and holidays to amber list destinations as travel rules were relaxed from Monday.
Travellers returning from amber countries who are fully vaccinated customers, as well as children travelling with them who are under 18, do not have to quarantine upon arrival.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2, said: “Today marks a big step up for our award-winning operation, as we are now operating flights and holidays to over 40 quarantine-free destinations.
“Feedback from customers and independent travel agents has been telling us for some time that there is enormous pent-up demand from holidaymakers looking to get away this summer, so it is fantastic to see full aircraft taking customers away to their favourite sunshine destinations.”
Mr Heapy also sent a message to all Jet2 customers warning them of “unprecedented call volumes” when attempting to contact customer service.
He said: “As such, I have had to make the difficult decision to prioritise all calls by departure date, so that we can deal with all our customers’ enquiries fairly and comprehensively.
“I, therefore, politely request, that customers do not contact us if they are not due to travel in the next 21 days.
