With the recent decision to remove the red list for foreign travel, UK holidaymakers are gearing up to get abroad before the winter months.
From Monday, November 1, all seven remaining countries were removed from the red list. The biggest change was the requirement for hotel quarantine.
Travellers do not need to quarantine in a hotel and pay over £2,000 if they are entering the UK, however, the rule is still in place should the government note any variants of concern.

France
France has introduced a new system governing international travel to and from France. There are three categories of measures: green, amber and red. You should regularly check the status of the country you are travelling to or from on the French government’s website.
The UK is currently on France’s amber list.
If your are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated you will only be permitted to travel for essential reasons.
You will also require the following documents:

Those travelling via the Eurostar will have to take a Covid-19 test upon arrival and anyone who tests positive will have to self-isolate for 10 days.
The same applies to those who are fully vaccinated but you will require proof of your Covid vaccination status.

Italy
Italy will accept the UK’s proof of COVID-19 recovery and vaccination record as the equivalent to a green pass.
If you are travelling with a printed PDF proof of vaccination status, it must date from 1 November to ensure that the certificate can be scanned successfully.
