President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday, October 4m, boarded a Kenya Airways flight to Ethiopia for the inauguration of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

This is contrary to what he usually uses to official function as he mainly flies abroad the Kenya Airforce or a private jet for security purposes.

According to State House Kenya, Uhuru joined other heads of state and government in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the inauguration ceremony.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta has joined other heads of state and government in Addis Ababa for the inauguration of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali,” State House Kenya stated.
The president and his entourage arrived in the Ethiopian capital in the afternoon of Monday, October 4, aboard a Kenya Airways aircraft.
Voting in Ethiopia
In June’s vote, Abiy’s Prosperity Party won 410 of the 436 parliamentary seats that were contested, out of a total of 547 seats.
Security and logistical problems delayed voting in the other 111 seats.
The opposition parties Ezema and the National Movement of Amhara (NAMA) each won fewer than ten seats in the June vote.
