Korean Air and German leisure airline Condor have officially signed a codeshare agreement and a Special Prorate Agreement (SPA). This significant partnership, formalized on June 19, 2024, aims to re-establish direct air travel connectivity between Korea and Germany, specifically linking Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA). This direct route has been unavailable since March 2020, following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the new agreement, Condor is set to launch new direct flights from Seoul Incheon to Frankfurt, with services commencing on June 23, 2024. As a codeshare partner, Korean Air will play a crucial role by selling tickets on these Condor-operated flights, making the restored connectivity accessible to its passengers. This collaboration offers travelers increased convenience and expanded options for journeys between the two countries.
The partnership extends beyond the direct Seoul-Frankfurt route. It is designed to enhance overall network connectivity for both airlines. Condor passengers will gain access to Korean Air’s extensive network for onward travel within Asia from Seoul, while Korean Air passengers will benefit from Condor’s network, providing seamless connections to various destinations across Europe from Frankfurt. Both airlines expressed enthusiasm for the renewed link, highlighting its importance for business and leisure travelers and underscoring the strength of their new collaboration.
