Korean Air has earned significant recognition at the 2023 Galaxy Awards, securing six Gold Awards for its marketing and communications efforts. The Galaxy Awards, an international competition organized by MerComm, Inc., honors excellence in product and service marketing. The awards ceremony was held in New York in October.
The airline’s success spans multiple categories, highlighting the quality and creativity of its promotional content, social media engagement, and special events.
### Recognition for Inflight and Promotional Content
Korean Air’s inflight magazine, MORNING CALM, was a standout, receiving two Gold Awards. The magazine won in the ‘Magazines: Covers’ category for its “Art of Travel” photo series, which showcases various travel destinations. It also earned a Gold Award in the ‘Magazines: Writing – Feature Article’ category for its feature story, “Gourmet’s Journey to Jinju.”
In addition, the airline was honored for its promotional video titled “A very personal welcome back to travel.” The video, which emphasizes Korean Air’s commitment to passenger safety and service, won a Gold Award in the ‘Videos: Non-Profit’ category.
### Innovative Campaigns and Anniversary Milestones
The airline’s innovative social media strategy was also recognized. A Gold Award was given in the ‘Social Media: Campaign’ category for its “Real-time Art Museum Tour with a Curator,” an Instagram Live event designed to engage customers during the pandemic.
Korean Air’s 50th-anniversary celebrations yielded two more Gold Awards. The special livery design featured on a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft won in the ‘Promotion: Special Project’ category. The anniversary celebration ceremony itself was awarded in the ‘Special Events’ category.
This is not the first time the airline’s 50th-anniversary campaign has been lauded; its special inflight meal for the anniversary previously won a Grand Award at the Galaxy Awards.
