Kenya Airways Boosts African Connectivity with Expanded Route Network

Kenya Airways (KQ) is significantly enhancing its presence across the African continent, introducing new routes and increasing frequencies to key destinations. This strategic expansion aims to solidify KQ’s position as a leading carrier within Africa, offering travelers greater connectivity and convenience.

The airline’s latest network adjustments include the launch of new service to Antananarivo, Madagascar, commencing on February 2nd, 2025. This route will operate on a bi-weekly basis, utilizing the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The addition of Antananarivo marks a crucial step in KQ’s commitment to underserved markets, unlocking new travel opportunities for business and leisure passengers alike.

Further bolstering its West African presence, Kenya Airways will also introduce Abidjan, Ivory Coast, to its network starting February 1st, 2025. Initially, this service will run twice weekly, also employing the Boeing 737-800. In addition to new destinations, KQ is optimizing existing routes. The Nairobi to Guangzhou service, previously operating as a seasonal offering, will now transition to a year-round schedule, with a planned increase to four weekly flights. The airline is also increasing frequencies to popular destinations. Flights to Nairobi to London Heathrow will see an additional weekly service, bringing the total to five flights per week. Similarly, the Nairobi to Paris route will also benefit from an increased frequency, with flights rising to three times weekly. These enhancements demonstrate KQ’s dedication to providing more options for long-haul travelers.
