Korean Air has introduced vegan meals on its flights, inspired by traditional Buddhist temple cuisine, which will be available to all passengers. First and business class passengers will have a greater choice of meals. Passengers can pre-order their meals online up to 24 hours before take-off. Airlines are increasingly expanding their plant-based options, but some are lagging behind. Recently, an American Airlines passenger, requesting a vegan meal, was given cookies with eggs and a granola bar with honey. In another instance, a Japan Airlines passenger was served only a banana for breakfast.
