Korean Air has resumed its five-times-a-week flights between Seoul and Brisbane, and Queensland’s tourism industry is expected to benefit greatly from increased inbound tourist numbers. It is believed Korean tourists will bring more than AUD120m ($87m) to the Queensland economy each year, as well as supporting more than 1,200 direct and indirect jobs. The new direct service is expected to make it easier for students to study in Queensland and for their families to visit. The route is part of Queensland’s Attracting Aviation Investment Fund, which is backed by Brisbane Airport Corporation and the state’s government.
