Authorities in South Korea are investigating a near collision at Seoul Gimpo Airport, the country’s second-largest airport. A Korean Air Boeing 737-900 failed to stop at a designated point before runway 32R, while an Air Busan Airbus A321 was about to take off from the same runway. The Air Busan aircraft took off to avoid conflict. Korean Air said its plane did not commit a runway incursion but admitted it passed the stopping point due to communication errors with air traffic control. The Airbus A321 pilots said they saw the Korean Air plane approaching and took off as a precaution. A visualization of the incident appeared on social media.
