United Airlines has announced it will cut flights at New York area airports during the busy summer travel season, citing a shortage of air traffic controllers. The upcoming reduction will impact daily flights departing from Newark Liberty International Airport, where the number of flights is set to decrease from 438 to 408. Meanwhile, there will be three fewer flights per day between LaGuardia Airport and Washington-Dulles Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is urging airlines to curb their schedules due to the lack of air traffic controllers. However, United claims that only 2% of its customers will be affected by the reduction.
