A United Airlines flight was forced to return to its gate at San Francisco International Airport on Monday after experiencing problems with one of its engines. The issued caused the flight, which was headed to Japan, to be delayed by five hours, further adding to the headache currently being experienced by Boeing.
Flight UA35 was scheduled to depart for Osaka just after 12pm but the pilots were notified of an engine start issue just as they started to taxi to the runway. The decision was made to return to the gate and the Boeing 777 plane, which had 243 passengers and 14 crew onboard, didn’t take to the skies until 4.56 pm.
The incident marks at least the eighth time a United flight has experienced maintenance issues in the last few weeks, according to reports. Some even indicate that it’s the 10th of its kind involving the US airline this month alone.
