Aviation safety is of top priority in the United States, with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) having strict regulations to ensure safe and reliable air operations in the country and worldwide. The FAA regulates air traffic, airports, airline operations, aircraft manufacturing, and more. A few months ago, following a string of incidents at United Airlines (UA), the regulator announced it would scrutinize United more heavily. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Office of Inspector General (OIG) announced it will view the FAA’s oversight at United.
