Vietnam has emerged as the new popular destination for budget travellers with the introduction of low-cost airline Vietjet’s direct flights between Australia and Vietnam. The flights are only marginally more expensive than a bánh mì, a traditional Vietnamese sandwich. The airline currently offers six weekly return flights between Melbourne/Sydney and Ho Chi Minh, with Brisbane flights scheduled to commence in June. Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the airline is releasing flights from just $200 that will be available until October 28, 2022, and the offer includes airport tax and surcharges. Furthermore, the airline has an extensive domestic network offering greater choice for travellers wanting to explore different cities in Vietnam. Vietjet’s flights from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City take place every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, departing at 10:15 a.m. and landing at 4:30 p.m. Return flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney will depart every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, so the journey is timely and efficient. The airline, which boasts a 7-star aviation rating, also offers a 50% fare discount for its SkyBoss and SkyBoss Business cabins until May 5, 2023.
