Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company has reported positive Q1/2023 results as it recorded an increase in revenue and profit year on year, due to stable domestic flight operations and the expansion of the international network. Its air transport revenue was VND 12,880bn (approx. USD 553mn) with an after-tax profit of VND 168bn (approx. USD 7.2mn), representing a YoY increase of 286% and 320% respectively. The airline’s load factor averaged 85%, while its technical reliability rate was 99.59%. Vietjet’s focus on optimising and managing operational costs, introducing new routes and expanding the fleet to 87 aircraft, aims to maintain its market leader status and reach 25.7 million passengers in 2023. Vietjet also plans to offer consumption services on an e-commerce platform with a focus on technology programs to accelerate digital business. Vietjet paid up to VND 1,053bn (approx. USD 45mn) of direct and indirect taxes, fees and charges to the State, and its debt-to-equity ratio and liquidity ratio remained within the safe range of the aviation industry.
